Mission Statement
Lil Paw Print Animal Rescue Haven is a group of volunteer pet lovers whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected pets. Whenever possible we also assist pets who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners. We are located in the Cincinnati Area.
All Lil Paw Print Animal Rescue Haven's pets are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. They are all brought up-to-date on shots before being placed in their new homes.
All Lil Paw Print Animal Rescue Haven's pets are evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners. If you are looking for a specific type of pet and do not see it on our website, please email us. We work closely with other rescue groups and animal shelters and may be able to assist you in finding your next furry friend.
For the month of November our adoption special is for our Adoptable Cats/Kittens/Dogs/Puppies.
Adopt one cat/kitten/dog/puppy and get $25 off the second adoption fee.

A lil about LPPARH:
Lil Paw Prints Animal Rescue Haven was started five years ago. The founder had been rescuing animals with her dad for over 15 years. It was his passion to help as many animals as possible, regardless of what they were or how bad they were. He would get them medical attention and get them back to power and find loving homes for them.
When he passed away in 2005, his daughter and family wanted to keep his passion alive and kept rescuing animals. In late 2008 when the huge wind storm came in, the founder was forced to give up all bully breeds in her care to other rescues, which devasted her. One of the bully breeds was her own personal dog. Due to insurance issues she had three weeks to locate homes for all the animals or turn them over to other rescues to adopt them out.
When this happened, the founder approached her family for the help she needed to get the rescue's 501(c)3 exemption and somehow get into a shelter building so they could house the bully breeds again. 70% of their calls and surrender applications were for bully breeds. The family declined to help, as it would be too time consuming and told the founder that she would be on her own from there on out. The founder knew immediately that she would do it all on her own no matter how long it took or what it cost. She was not going to give up her dad's or her own passion for helping animals.
To this day LPPARH is not able to take any bully breed. The founder is working desperately to obtain funds to pay the bills needing to be paid so they can move forward with getting into a shelter building within the next two years, which will enable us to shelter the bully breeds once again and house more animals needing our care.
Needless to say, the founder is heartstrong on saving as many animals as the rescue possibly can.
All animals rescued stay in qualitified foster homes until they are up-to-date on their shots, 100% healthy, socialized with humans and other animals as well as trained to basic commands and potty trained. They stay in our care until forever homes are located for them.
All meetings with our pets are by appointment only! If you have a pet you are interested in meeting please submit to us an adoption application and we will set up a workable time for all involved.
Boog's Story:
BoogBoog as we called her was our first rescue dog. She was left behind when neighbors had gotten divorced and moved their seperate ways leaving her in an open kennel outside to roam for someone to take her to the pound. We found Boog roaming the street and followed her back to her home. We contacted our previous neighbors and they told us to keep her if we wanted her. We did. We had found out from them that the previous owner where they had gotten her from had beat her with a lead pipe as a pup.
We had her for a couple of months when her left front paw started swelling. We took her to vet for tests and xrays to find out she had cancer in her palm. They needed to do surgery to remove it. They ended having to take two of her toes which after the badges were taken off it looked like she was giving the peace sign. Her nickname then became "Peace Dog". She was happy go lucky, playful and energetic doggy.
In 2009, she had lost weight considerably within a months time. We rushed her into the vet had tests and xrays done. Xrays and tests showed she was in heart failure. She could go at anytime without any warning. We put her on medicine to make her heart smaller, to keep the fluid out of her chest cavity and to keep her heart beating more regularly. This medicine gave her an extra year with us.
In late December, she had lost all her weight again, was losing her hair and had skin patches all over. We took her back into the vet to find out her medicine had stopped working. Her system got immune to it. There was nothing more the vet could do so he told us to take her home and let her rest.
Today at 12:40pm, Boogey lost her battle to heart failure. She was a great rescue pet, great friend and a wonderful companion for our rescue. She will be extremely missed.

May they rest in the hands of God and look upon us with their light.
Munchkin's Story:
Munchkin's mom had accidently got pregnant while the owner was out of town and a family member was watching her. The owner who is up in age could not handle having a pregnant Chihuahua so she asked to surrender her to us.
Momma had three gorgeous pups. 2 boys and 1 girl. Unfortunately the lil girl died just a couple hours after birth from complications. There was Munchkin and his brother Cujo left.
A couple of days after Munchkin was born we noticed his head was much bigger than his body and much bigger than his borther's. We took him to the vet to see what was going on.
Bad news came to us as we found out Muncjkin had fluid on the brain and there was nothing our vet could do to help except to put him on mediciine to try to help alleviate some of fluid. We were told to contact Ohio State University to see what they could do with him being so small.
We contacted the OSU and was told they would have to do surgery to relieve the fluid and place stints in him to keep the fluids flowing properly. Needless to say, this surgery was not cheap nor did we have the funds to get it done right away.
While we were trying to gain the funds needed, the medicine seemed to helphim a lil bit but unfortunately that did not last long. Munchkin's condition kept getting worse every day when he hit 5 weeks old.
We were no where near close to having the funds needed for his surgery.
3 days after Munchkin turned 6 weeks old, his system could no longer take the toll of the fluid on his brain. He passed away in the hands of the founder of the rescue.
God dedcided that Munchkin had enough suffering and made him an angel. We had him cremated and he rests right next to Boog in the founders office.

Animal Rescue Announces Donation Drive
Press Release: For Immediate Release
Nov. 14, 2011, Loveland, OH
With the increase in animal surrenders, Lil Paw Prints Animal Rescue Haven is finding itself needing to do a donation drive to get the donations needed to care for the 50 dogs and 65 cats in their care. LPPARH is a No-Kill animal rescue ran out of foster homes throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas. Their main foster home is located in Loveland, Ohio.
LPPARH takes in over 350 animals a year and gives them the medical care, love, attention and training they need in order to be adopted to their forever homes. The founder, Robyn Moore says, "We are getting more animals needing our help daily but the donations are just no longer there as they use to be. We can use all the help we can certainly get these days". With now having a waiting list of over 50 surrenders, their list keeps growing daily of people needing to surrender their pets due to the economy.
Moore says, "This donation drive through the holidays will hopefully be great for us as we are low on everything at this point. After all, the season of charity and spirit of giving is upon us. The animal residents of LPPARH know the importance of that spirit more than anyone else. After 6 years of exceptional service to the community and keeping the holiday spirit alive all year, every year, we are asking for your help. These animals are the most innocent and helpless creatures touched by this economic crisis. Without donations, we will be unable to care for the many senior and special needs animals that reside here and won’t be able to maintain the care that communities, people, and animals have come to depend on us for”."
You may drop off donations at the following locations: US Bank, 9934 Waterstone Blvd., Loveland (513)774-2220 ∙ ∙ Hopewell Animal Hospital, 9495 Loveland-Madeira Rd, Cincinnati (513)745-0890 ∙
Monetary donations can be made at any US Bank in care of Lil Paw Prints Animal Rescue Haven or can be mailed to: P.O. Box 393, Loveland, Ohio 45140. Credit card donations can be called into LPPARH at (513)615-6726.

Fill out and submit an adoption application
Once we receive the application we will verify your information. If all information is in good standing we will call you to set up a Meet n Greet with the pet you wish to adopt.
We run strictly by foster homes. Meet n Greets need to be made by appointment only. This gives our foster homes enough time to set aside the day and time to bring the pet to our main foster home location in Loveland.
Please be aware that our ONLY objective is to permanently re-home these animals in the best possible environment for their specific needs and to help you to choose the pet that best suits your home and lifestyle.
We reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone, for any reason, at any time, in accordance with our experience and sense of responsibility for the animals in our care.

We do require a $50 spay/neuter deposit to guarantee that when the pet reaches 6 months of age that you have one month to get the pet spayed/neutered after the adoption. Once the pet has been altered and we receive the receipt showing it was done, we will send you back the $50.
**We do not always have space in our rescue for new pets, and we therefore do not guarantee that we will have space for your pet. You must recognize that we work entirely out of foster homes, and we cannot force our volunteers to take in more pets than they can handle.
If we do have space to take your pet, you must provide us with the list of items below in order for us to accept the pet:

All surrendering owners will need to sign a surrender contract. All surrenders MUST come with all their vet paper work and any registration information they may have, such as if they are AKC,CKC,UKC etc.
We are sorry for those of you who feel that a surrender fee is inappropriate if the pet you found is a stray and not your own pet. Please understand that we get Many calls and emails in regards to pets that people claim are not theirs, that without our surrender fees we would have more pets than funds to care for the rescue pets in our care. A surrender fee is required. Thank you for understanding.
There ’s a perfect home out there for each and every one of our pets. Sometimes it just takes a little while to find it.
That’s where our foster guardians come in.
These compassionate pet lovers open their hearts and their homes to provide temporary shelter for our homeless pets. Through their kindness and generosity, we gain valuable time and the insight we need to place each pet in the perfect, permanent home.

What Does A Foster Guardian Do?
Foster parents provide security, love, companionship and the nurturing home environment that all pets need to fully blossom.
They play a key role in helping us evaluate a rescued pet's behavior, temperament and energy level. Through their daily interaction in the home, we gather important information like whether a pet is housebroken, patient with children, aggressive or shy with cats and other dogs. The more we learn about a pet through foster care, the more successful we will be in creating the ideal match.
What If I Become Too Attached?
This is one of the most common remarks we hear, and we understand this sentiment completely! It is always difficult for us to part with an animal that we have rescued and sometimes nursed back to health. But letting go is part of the process.
The work foster guardians do saves the lives of many precious pets. These pets get a new lease on life and a chance to experience all the happiness that they deserve. Although the self-sacrifice may seem difficult to those who have never lived through it, many foster guardians who once thought it too painful, now tell us the rewards are life-changing.
We will provide all food, treats and medical care for the pet you wish to foster. All we ask is that you are able to transport the pet to the vet and any adoption event when needed as well as give the pet much love and affection as possible.
Thinking of Sponsoring one of our Rescue Pets?
We know the feeling, you want to take them all home! But most of us aren’t able to take home every pet we want to, and some of us can’t take any of them home. But there ’s still something you can do! You can help them through our sponsorship program.
By sponsoring a pet, you help us to provide food, routine medical care, toys, blankets, and all the other things a pet needs. Your monthly donation will help us to care for these pets until they are adopted. Or, in the case of permanent rescue residents, for their long-term needs.
You can select a pet (or more than one!) from the photolist on our Adoptable Pet page. Sponsorships are a minimum of $25.00 per month. Your payments can be through monthly checks or through ActiveGiving. Or, if you prefer, you can pay in one annual payment. You will receive a photo of your sponsored pet as well as monthly updates about your special friend. When your sponsored pet is adopted, you will receive the good news and will have the option of transferring your sponsorship to another pet. We will also put your name on your sponsored pet's picture.
Although we are not yet 501(c)3 and cannot provide you with a tax receipt, we can provide you with a letter stating you donated to us without a monetary amount listed that can still be used by accountants for tax purposes.

Adoption Days:
We need volunteers to help us participate in area Pet Adoption Days. Volunteers will transport pets to adoption facility and interact with the public throughout the day, answering their questions, screening them as possible pet owners, etc. This will require one weekend day, approximately once a month, depending on the number of participating volunteers and pets needing homes.
Animal Care Giver:
Responsibilities may include cleaning the kennel, answering animal related inquiries from the public, exercising and socializing animals, or performing general office functions. Days and hours vary.
Canister Caretaker:
Be responsible for one or more donation canisters at local businesses. Your duties will include contacting area merchants, collecting canister contents, maintaining accounts, and submitting monthly donation records to our Treasurer.
Donation Drives:
Help us contact area businesses and service organizations to obtain donations of much-needed pet products such as food, litter and grooming goods. Once a month, we need volunteers to help us host pet product "donation drives" at area supermarkets.
Event Planning/Fundraising:
Since our organization is non-profit and receives no financial support from the government, we rely upon our fundraising events to help us generate community awareness and finance our various programs. We are always looking for new event and/or fundraising ideas, and energetic people to lead these activities!
Grantwriting:
Grants are one of the most important means of financing a non-profit group’s endeavors. By receiving grants, we hope to acquire enough funds to build or buy a space for our shelter. We need help researching grant opportunities via the web, prioritizing those opportunities and answering RFP’s/writing proposals.
Newsletter:
Help us put out a monthly newsletter, in both electronic and printed form! We need people to submit articles, solicit ideas and coordinate overall production. This will require about 10 hours per month and will require basic computer and internet skills (M/S Word, Email, Internet).
Volunteer Fairs:
We are always looking for new members and volunteers. Represent our group at area Volunteer Fairs and help us find energetic people who love animals.
Outbound Calls:
We are always looking for sponsors and donations from local companies. We are needing volunteers to call businesses to ask for their sponsor/donation support.

Board Game Tournament
Create a fun twist on a card tournament and do something that everyone can participate in. Have a Board Game Tournament. Pick a favorite, such as Sorry, Trouble, or Monopoly. Assemble 4 person teams that will work together to accumulate points or you can allow individuals to participate. Charge an entry fee for each team, in order to earn money for your charity. Give a portion of the proceeds as the winning prize. Decide on any "House" rules beforehand.
Bake Sale
You will want to give a call out to all of the bakers in your group and have them make their specialty. Ask that they send a list of ingredients with their baked goods. Make sure you have an assortment of different types of desserts ranging from cookies and muffins to whole cakes and pies. You will want to package items individually (single cookies) and in larger groups (plates of cookies) so that you have something for everyone. Clearly label all items with a price and ingredients list. Clearly mark anything with nuts so you don’t have any allergic reactions.
Wacky Hat Day
This fun fundraiser will work at school, a place of business, or house of worship. For a one or two dollar donation, allow people to wear a wacky hat for the day. Collect money first thing in the morning and give participants a special hand stamp or sticker to show they have paid their fee. Have a "create your own wacky hat" station for those who would like to participate but didn’t bring one of their own.
Paint the Curb
Grab some number stencils, some paint and masking tape and get ready to paint the curb for this fundraiser. Having your address painted on the curb in front of your house can save precious time if emergency services ever need to find your home. Create a flyer telling about your group and what you are raising money for. Explain that you will be in their neighborhood on a specific date to paint address numbers on curbs for a donation. Tell them the benefits of having this done. Distribute the fliers door to door in local neighborhoods a few days in advance. Be careful not to place them in mailboxes, as this is against federal law. Make sure you practice painting in advance. Knock on doors and ask to speak to the homeowner. Explain who you are and have a copy of your flyer. Ask if they are interested in having their address painted on the curb. After you are done, ask them to inspect it for final approval. Give them a thank you note to show your appreciation. Make sure to check with your local municipality for any regulations or requirements for painting numbers on curbs before you begin.
Door to Door Scavenger Hunt
This fundraiser is a great way to collect non-perishable and other items for the rescue. It is also a fun night out for the family. Create a list of items that are needed by the rescue, such as blankets, towels, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc. Split your group into teams. If your group includes children or teenagers make sure each team includes one at lest one adult. Give each team a list of items to collect (each list could be different) and bags or boxes to hold the items they collect. Make the rules simple, such as no buying the items from the store and no collecting more than two items from each house. You may want to have a small card or flyer printed about your group and what you are trying to accomplish. Send the teams into local neighborhoods to search for the items on their list. Knock on doors and politely explain your mission. Ask if they are interested in helping you out. Award prizes to the first three teams that return with all of the items. Have dinner waiting for everyone as a thank you for participating.
Car Detailing
Why not have a car detailing day? Your group can clean just the interiors of cars, and either charge a flat fee or ask for donations. You'll need plenty of paper towels, but reusable cloths are a better way to go if you're trying to be environmentally conscious. You can buy big boxes of them at club stores or auto supply stores. You'll also need glass cleaner, as well as cleaners and protectants for vinyl and leather. Also have plenty of trash bags on hand to throw away Hold your detailing event in a shady area, if you can, since it will be hotter inside cars than if you were washing the outsides. If there's an electrical outlet nearby, ask a group member to bring a heavy duty vacuum to use on the car's carpets and upholstery. An upholstery cleaner might also be a good idea, if you want to clean up spills and stains for an extra charge. Throw in an inexpensive air freshener, and your customers can drive away in clean, fresh cars while you earn money for your cause.
Going to the Dogs
Dogs are now considered a member of the family and people are spending more time, love, and money on them than ever. Give your employees the chance to bring their dog to work for a day. Set a day and a price for the day. Most people would probably be willing to pay fifteen to twenty five dollars. Have a few rules, such as dogs must be kept on leashes, they should be up to date on shots, you must have a vaccination record, and you must clean up any messes your dog makes both inside and outside. Provide “bio” baggies and a trash can outside to deposit the messes. Set up a dog free zone in a conference room for those with allergies or who don’t want to participate, to work in for the day. At lunchtime have a contest for the prettiest dog, the silliest pet trick, and dog that most looks like its owner. You will probably find your employees are happier and more productive on this day.
Pants, Who Needs Pants Day?
Be careful, this one could get weird. This is intended for professional and semi-professional organizations where there is a fairly strict dress code. This fundraiser is to sell a day pass to that dress code for $5 or $10. In the strictest sense, it is a pass to wear shorts. The kitschy name is intended to be humorous and solicit participation. Some other variations include Hawaiian shirt day, or jeans day, or swimsuit day, or anything else that is appropriate for your organization. The point is to allow your workers or members to take a break from the regulations, improve morale, and make some money for the rescue. This fundraiser pairs well with themed days or events. Have a beach day, where people wear shorts and t-shirts. Have someone going around the office selling tropical beverages, non-alcoholic, of course. The theme here is targeted to corporations.
Rake It Up
It seems like all the leaves fall from the trees at once in the fall. It can be a time consuming task, but a great fundraiser for the rescue. Create a flyer that explains your group, what you are raising money for, and talks about your Rake It Up day. Distribute them door to door in your neighborhoods. Be careful not to place them in mailboxes, as this is against federal law. Let people know you will be in their neighborhood, rakes in hand, to clean up their yard for a donation. Pick a weekend, as more people will be home. Bring rakes and yard waste disposal bags. Make sure to check with your local municipality for requirements. Knock on doors and see who wants their yards cleaned up. Remember to be courteous. Find out where they want the yard waste put, as you may not be able to just leave it at the curb. Leave a handwritten thank you note to show your appreciation.
Sponsor my As and Bs
Instead of paying a student for their good grades, help them raise money for the rescue by getting a good report card. Find sponsors who will pay a certain amount for every A or B on their report card. Maybe have a bonus for an all A report card. This will be great motivation for students to study hard and keep their grades up. Work with the teachers and see if they will keep a running total so each student knows where they stand. Provide tutors to help those students who need it. Allow each student to photocopy their report card to send it to their sponsors along with envelopes so they can collect the money. Have each student send a thank you note to each sponsor letting them know what the rescue could use the funds for. Throw a pizza party at the end of the fundraiser for all the students to thank them for all their hard work.
Teacher/Boss Payback
This requires a willing teacher or boss. You pick several activities that are appropriate for the setting that you would want your teacher or boss to perform as payback. You put the details of each activity on a jar or money box and put the jars out where students or co-workers can deposit money in them to "vote" for the activity they want done. At the end of a period of time, several days to a week, count the money in each jar. The jar with the most money is the winner, and the teacher or boss has to perform that task. Tasks for a teacher might be to provide a class with a pizza lunch, shave a beard or mustache, change their haircut, dye there hair, or wear a clown suit for a day. Boss tasks could be completing a task nobody wants to do, make the coffee for a week, wash their employees’ cars, take out the trash, clean the bathrooms, or wear a clown suit for a day. The key is they have to be something fun for the employees or students, but something the teacher or boss is willing to do.
